Holiday Writing!!
I went to Kaikoura and we saw the seals. They were exciting and
they were terrific at putting their heads back and flipping underwater. When we
went to bed the trainswoke us up. By Isabella
I slept in my holiday house in Auckland we played on shimmering
golden sand beaches. We also flew this humungous kite it was like a rainbow
shimmering in the golden sun. We also went to see Nana Marion and Grandpa Jon in in their two
storeyed white house. By Amber
When we were going to Timezone we had
a treat first. It was frozen yogurt, mango and chocolate I got to choose my
toppings like sprinkles. Then we went to Timezone and there was a bowling game,
I played it and I got 15 tickets!

When
I went to Tumble Down Bay me and my brother made little pools by digging
a
big round shallow hole. When Dad came back he had two tiny paddle crabs in his
hands.(Paddle
crabs get their name from the paddles on their back legs) We put the crabs in
our pool but instead of scuffling around they dug into the sand. Only the eyes
and mouth remained.
When
I was swimming on my paddle board something grabbed my leg and then let me go. Then
I was running out of the sea because I was scared!
A crab
put its pinchers up to pinch me. When me and my dad checked the net there were
two tiny paddle crabs and one big paddle crab I had to carry the big paddle crab
in a bucket and Kisik , my brother carried the two tiny crabs in a jar.
Paddle
crabs eat small fish and small plants. When paddle crabs see an enemy
they
raise their pinchers or dig down into the sand so the enemy can't see them.
There is over 300 paddle crabs in the world, they aren't even an endangered
species. When we went home, we cooked the paddle crabs up and there were
two
big paddle crabs we had to cook and there was hardly any meat in them.
I
felt happy to go to bed with warm full tummy. In the morning I got to eat the
left
over crab meat.
